Obviously I can’t go into a ton of detail about this anime since I haven’t watched it yet (and I’d like to avoid spoilers), but the anime I most want to watch is an anime called Monster which aired from 2004 to 2005. Unfortunately, there aren’t any legal streams for this one yet (from what I can tell, a lot of companies own various licensing for this one), and life on the high seas is tiring work when there’s already plenty of legal anime to watch in my backlog.

The concept of someone having to make a life altering moral choice between two evils and then getting to watch the long term consequences really intrigues me. I love anime that is focused on drama more than action, so the idea plays right into my tastes. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s one of the highest rated anime on my Planning list (you don’t often see ratings like this on anime that’s as long as this one is at 74 episodes).

If you’ve seen it and have any spoiler free thoughts to share, I’d love to read them.

  3. This is one of my favorite anime of all times. There isn’t much anime like this that also used huge characters with so many interconnected stories but this is one of them. I think also Breaking Bad was a bit inspired by this anime.
